Sheren Tang wants meatier role for TV comeback

23 Apr – Hong Kong actress Sheren Tang has no qualms returning to television, but only if she gets to play a role that she has never done before.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress who attended the 27th Hong Kong Drama Awards, made no response to whether she will one day return to TVB, but that she would not say no to a Hong Kong drama if she is given something different for a change.

"People have to progress. I would rather do something new and start from scratch, rather than have repetition and comparison," she said, alluding to previous suggestions of her doing another palace drama or another "Rosy Business" instalment.

She gave the example of Teresa Mo's award-winning role in the movie "Tomorrow is Another Day", saying that she craves such an interesting and challenging role.

When asked if she is not interested at all to work with her "Rosy Business" co-star Wayne Lai again, Sheren responded, "I will not limit myself so. We've had a great cooperation before, it won't be easy to surpass that. I don't want our collaboration to end with something bad. I want people to have a great memory of us."
