Sheer Dresses Are Trending on the Red Carpet at the 2024 Grammys: Halle Bailey in Gucci, Miley Cyrus in Maison Margiela and More

Several stars attended the 2024 Grammys on in Los Angeles Sunday sporting one of spring’s biggest trends: sheer dresses. Brandon Maxwell, Chanel and Balenciaga displayed barely-there looks during their spring 2024 presentations, with celebrities bringing back the trend at this year’s Primetime Emmys after see-through styles were popular on the red carpet in 2023.

Doja Cat

Doja Cat walked the red carpet in a structured sheer gown with visible boning and a gathered skirt from Dilara Findikoglu. The pop star accessorized with a pair of cherry red peep-toe pumps.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus arrived in a custom sheer gold gown from Maison Margiela. The singer’s dress, crafted entirely from safety pins and worn with no visible undergarments, was styled with gold velvet Tabi split-toe heels.

Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey arrived in a custom floor-length sheer gown from Gucci. The “Little Mermaid” star’s sparkling frock featured a plunging neckline.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding attended the Grammys in a sheer black Zuhair Murad gown from the brand’s fall 2023 couture collection. The singer, whose dress was adorned with three-dimensional floral appliqués, styled her sheer look with simple jewelry from Messika.

Ella Balinska

Ella Balinska walked the red carpet in a sheer black fit-and-flare gown. Ballinska’s dress, complete with visible black princess seams, gathered shoulder stitching and a plunging neckline, was styled with matching sheer black gloves and visible black undergarments.

Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne arrived in a sculptural sheer black gown from Christian Siriano’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Her dress, which featured a mermaid silhouette, came complete with a structured bodice.

The 2024 Grammys, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 4, celebrates the biggest artists, albums and songs of the year. Hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, the 66th annual ceremony features performances from Billie Eilish, SZA, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo, among others. The Recording Academy will also present Lifetime Achievement Awards to Donna Summer, N.W.A., Tammy Wynette and Gladys Knight.
