Sharon Chan: Michael Lai taught me a lot

3 Dec– Sharon Chan was still in a sombre mood when she appeared at the taping of TVB's "Cantopop at 50" recently, having said goodbye to composer Michael Lai who passed away on 1 December.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who performed at the show with Bowie Wu, stated that being on the programme only reminded her more of Michael, as she regarded it as Nancy Sit and Michael Lai's show.

"I was so happy to work with him. He is a senior who has contributed a lot to the music industry. He taught me a lot," she said.

Sharon also admitted that she was among those who saw Michael at the hospital, along with Nancy Sit and Jack Wu.

"I touched him and prayed for him. He was asleep at the time, but made little reaction. We talked about a lot of happy things that we shared together. He really cherished Nancy," she said.

The actress added that even after Michael quit the show, he still watched the programme and would often send her messages to praise her progress.

"On a positive side, he is now at a place where he is at peace and no longer in pain," she added.
