Sharnaaz Ahmad says he doesn't need to win awards

12 Jun – Sharnaaz Ahmad has no need for awards despite winning praises for his acting as a villain in "Polis Evo 3".

The actor, who spoke to Harian Metro recently, stated that he never performed for the sake of winning accolades, and that he would rather be remembered as the "best villain" in Malaysia.

"All I ask is for people to remember me as the laidback Malaysian antagonist," he added.

Playing Reza in the action buddy-cop movie, Sharnaaz admitted that he was surprised that the audience loved the character even though he was very cruel.

"Usually villains are hated, like Sarip Dol," he said, referring to the Kampung Dusun Gangster character played by actor Shariff Dol in "Seniman Bujang Lapok". "Maybe it's because the story is about a man who lost his wife."

"For me, having the audience loving my performance is good enough. That is all I ask for," he added.

The movie has now made RM45 million at the box office and counting.
