‘Shark Tank’ & ‘Grimm’ Finale Ratings Down From 2015 On Slow Night

The last Friday of the season had a trio of finales with Shark Tank (1.2/5), Grimm (0.9/4) and The Originals (0.4/3) and one debut in Masters Of Illusion (0.4/2).

On a pretty slow night when Shark Tank and 20/20, up 20%, were tied for the top rated show, the finales were a mixed bag. Compared to last week, the 2-hour Season 5 ender of Grimm was up 12% among adults 18-49, Shark Tank ended its seventh season even with its May 13 offering and The Originals was up a tenth. Overall, ABC won Friday in both the demo and viewers with a 1.1/4 rating and an audience of 4.89 million.

However, finale-to-finale, last night’s 9 PM broadcast of the reality entrepreneurial show fell 20% from its 8 PM May 15, 2015 Season 6 ender. Grimm was down 18% from its 1-hour Season 4 finale of the same night and The Vampire Diaries spinoff declined 20% from its Season 2 end of 8 PM May 11 last year, a Monday. On the flipside, a double shot of MoI at 8 PM (0.4/2) and 8:30 PM (0.4/2) was magically up 33% over its July 10, 2015 Season 4 opener.

CBS’ I Love Lucy Superstar Special (0.8/3) was down a tenth from its colorized inaugural on May 17 last year, a Sunday. Lead-out Undercover Boss (0.7/3) took a 42% cut from its last Friday airing of February 5 and 22% from its last original of Sunday May 15.

At 8 PM, Shark Tank spinoff Beyond The Tank (0.8/3) was up for the second consecutive week, rising a tenth from last week. At 10 PM, NBC’s Dateline (0.9/4) was also up a tenth. A Blue Bloods (0.7/3) repeat in the 10 PM slot was the most watched show of Friday night, as the NYPD family drama’s originals almost always are, with 5.59 million tuning in for more Tom Selleck.
