Selena Lee says winning a TVB award is like an approval from family
28 Feb – Although she has won international awards, Selena Lee admitted that it is nothing compared to being appreciated by the fans and colleagues in Hong Kong when she won Most Popular Female TV Character and Most Popular Onscreen Couple (alongside Joel Chan) at the previously held TVB Anniversary Awards.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who sat down for an interview recently, shared that winning an award from TVB is like getting the approval from a family, and that she was glad to finally get it after 16 years with the company.
"The most touching part about the awards was not the praises, but the support and encouragement from the audience. It was very rare to win the votes from netizens. A number of viewers voted for me, and that is priceless," she said.
When mentioned that she lost the TV Queen award to Kara Hui, Selena smiled and said that she has already guessed the results seeing top stars like Kara and Miriam Yeung together at the event.
"Furthermore, I was no longer a TVB artiste, and there is no need for them to give the award to me. I am just lucky to win something. I especially would like to thank the viewers and media alike for fighting for me. That's what moved me the most," she added.
