Sandy Lam explains absence from Golden Melody Awards
3 Jul – Hong Kong singer Sandy Lam recently admitted that it was intentional on her part not to attend the recently held Golden Melody Awards.
As reported on Epoch Times, the singer recently addressed her absence via her management company, saying that she has decided to focus only on creating her music and perfecting her performance in recent years.
"Such a gathering [like the GMA] should give more focus to new generations of musicians," she added.
Sandy was represented by her agent at the event held on 29 June, who went onstage to accept the accolade for Best Vocal Recording Album and Best Mandarin Female Singer for her performance in the new album "0".
