Sandra Ng wants to employ more newcomers

9 Aug – Although she is currently promoting her new movie, with another one in tow, Sandra Ng recently revealed that she is now working on another new project with the intention to employ more newcomers.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke to the media at the charity screening of her sports drama, "Zero to Hero", stated that she will be filming a new movie in October with black humour as its theme.

"I am currently working very hard on writing the script," she said.

Sandra stated that seeing that there has been a lack of new talents in the Hong Kong film industry, she hopes to continue to employ newcomers in her upcoming projects.

"I feel that whether onscreen or off-screen, we should cultivate new blood. We should put more effort into helping even more new directors and actors especially during this pandemic where we're all staying here in Hong Kong," she added.

On the other hand, when asked if husband Peter Chan will be returning to mainland China to start another movie, Sandra said that they are worried about another wave of COVID, but that there is nothing that they could do.

"The pandemic prevention in mainland China is very strict, but this isn't for anyone to decide. He has to work and we can't do anything about that," she added.
