Sammi Cheng is glad Andy Hui finally faced the public
19 Jun – Sammi has recently dismissed the idea that she was the pillar of support that enabled husband Andy Hui to make his return to the music scene.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer who appeared in North Point to promote her new movie, "Fatal Visit", stated that the media romanticised the idea of her being Andy's special support system, saying that it was normal for her to encourage her husband to do what he needs.
"We are living in the same house after all," she added, saying that Andy is currently taking things one step at a time.
"He came out to face everybody himself and take his own responsibility. This is an inevitable step, but he didn't need me to tell him what to do. Let him decide on his own and do it when he is ready, and I will just support his decision. Being ready to face the public is more important than making a comeback," she said.
However, Sammi admitted that she was happy to see Andy take the necessary step, knowing that it was a huge psychological barrier to him.
"I just told him to be natural and express himself from the heart. As for what the public will say, it could be surprising, but that he should not mind it and just leave everything to God. I think he is at peace now that he has expressed his mind," she added.
Earlier this week, Andy made his first public appearance at the ViuTV "Chill Club" taping, more than a year since he went on hiatus following his cheating scandal with TVB actress Jacqueline Wong.
