Not to be confused with the independent trade show Sake Matsuri, this festival is organised by the liquor boutique Orihara Shoten, one of Asia’s oldest and largest sake exhibitions.

A standard ticket will set you back by S$60. For every 5 tickets bought, you will get 1 free ticket. Only those above 18 years old (i.e. legal drinking age) can be admitted.

Check out these highlights.

Free tasting of over 300 Japanese sakes

This year’s festival carries more than 300 labels from 30 sake breweries in Japan. These are available for tasting and purchase.

Some of the breweries and sakes to look out for include Minenohakubai Brewery, maker of Ryouko Junmai Ginjo with a focus on mellow, tantalising sake, and Makino Brewery, creator of the Macho Omachi. The beverage has a refreshingly dry yet delicious flavour.

Another highlight is the Nabedana Brewery. It offers the Fudoh Junmai Daiginjou,  made from 50% polished sake-komachi rice for a refreshing and aromatic taste.
