Rui En wasn't running away from accident, says rep

14 Apr - It was all a misunderstanding, according to TV actress Rui En's rep, when asked about the actress' accident involving her car and a stationary motorcycle last Tuesday.

As reported on Straits Times, back on 12 April, the owner of aforementioned motorcycle, Mr. Bahrom Sarmiten, reported that he was walking to the carpark when he heard a loud noise and found that his bike had been hit by a BMW.

He stated that he quickly rushed to stop the car before it tried to leave the scene and told the woman inside the car not to move.

Bahrom stressed that he didn't know who she was but that she smelled of alcohol. He also alleged that the woman asked him if he knew who she was, and tried to settle things privately by offering him SGD2000 in cash.

Bahrom stated that he refused the offer since he didn't think that it would cover the damage.

However, according to Rui En's label rep from Hype Records on 13 April, the accident happened because of some misjudgment, and that nobody else was injured in the incident.

The rep also denied that the actress was trying to run away from her responsibility, but that she was just trying to park her vehicle before addressing the issue to avoid unnecessary traffic congestion.

The rep disclosed that the carpark is where Rui parks her vehicle every day.

The actress is currently assisting the police with the investigation, and her record label apologised for any inconvenience caused by the unfortunate incident.

Meanwhile, several witnesses at the scene claimed that the actress told the police that she had a glass of wine, while others saw the police giving her the breathalyzer.
