Ruby Lin to produce and star in new drama, "My Boy"
14 Mar - Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin is set to star in her first drama since giving birth to her daughter.
As reported on Sinchew, the actress, who has been on maternity leave for a few months, will be playing the lead in "My Boy" (translated title) alongside actor Derek Zhang. She will also be producing the project.
When asked why she decided to do the said drama, Ruby said that she immediately said yes after finding out that the script was written by Mag Hsu, the award-winning scriptwriter who wrote praiseworthy projects such as "Apple In Your Eye", "MARS", "Time Story", and "An Innocent Mistake".
"I have always loved Mag's works. She has always been able to convey things that comes from the depth of a woman's heart. I am really looking forward to this cooperation," she enthused.
As for working with Derek, Ruby said that the actor is quite versatile, and has the ability to appear boyish and manly at the same time.
Details of the drama are yet to be revealed. However, it was reported that production will begin in May.
