Royal Reporter Details Palace Response to Prince Harry’s Shocking Memoir

In case you missed this particular jaw-dropping news, last night The Guardian casually published a passage from Prince Harry’s memoir where he accuses Prince William of attacking him. Like, physically. Here’s a quick excerpt:

“He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

This is obviously a HUGE accusation to make, and you might be wondering how the Palace plans to respond. Answer: They don’t. Veteran royal reporter Richard Palmer hopped on Twitter and said the royals have no intention of saying anything about the fight—or about Harry’s claim that William and Kate Middleton encouraged him to wear a Nazi costume.

“Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace aren’t responding to Prince Harry’s leaked claims from his memoir that William physically attacked his brother or that it was it was William and Kate’s idea for him to wear a Nazi uniform to an infamous fancy dress party,” Palmer tweeted. “Similarly there is no comment from the Palace on Harry’s description of their father pleading with them after an anguished meeting post Prince Philip’s funeral: ‘Please, boys, don’t make my final years a misery.’”

Palmer goes on to note that ahead of the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries, “A well-placed source said William was ready to respond publicly if there were damaging, untrue allegations,” which naturally begs the question, “Will the public now conclude Harry’s version of events is true?”
