18 Dec - More than three months after he announced that he is taking a break from work to focus on treating his depression and alcoholism, videos of Ronald Cheng performing in Macau went viral in China.

The singer, whose performance videos at the Wynn Palace in Macau trended on the social media platform Xiaohongshu, with netizens noticing that he has gained a little bit of weight and dyed his hair blond.

Netizens who claimed to have watched the performance said that Ronald was very kind and even told his fans that he has been writing songs in preparation for his new Mandarin album.

His comeback also has sparked online discussions whether he has recovered from his previous challenge with alcoholism.

It was back in August that Ronald revealed that he is taking a break after his concerts in Taiwan in September to go to the United States to receive treatment at an alcohol rehab centre.

The singer also announced the termination of his collaboration with his agency, citing problems with his manager Ho Hing Sheung's work and ethical conduct.
