Robin Padilla on ABS-CBN: We need change, not closure!
8 May – While he is known to have criticised ABS-CBN in the past, Robin Padilla recently slammed the cease and desist order delivered by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) for the network to stop all radio and TV operations.
The actor shared a photo of the ABS-CBN building, stressing that what is needed for the network was change and not closure, especially during these trying times when unemployment is at an all-time high and there is a need for TV stations to relay information to the citizens.
He also cited the Quran, specifically An-Naas:4-5, which read, "But there is something else. We must always remain on guard from the mischief of the whisperer who comes quietly and blows an air of suspicion into the hearts of the people and withdraws."
"That tells us how important it is to be on guard from such whisperers. That would enable us to harness the creative energy that flows within us for the higher good. Only then would we be able to make the best use of the synergy that comes into play when we work together in a spirit of cooperation based on mutual respect and trust. If that happens there is no way a community, people, or a nation cannot but prosper materially and spiritually," he wrote.
