Rising star Chung Suet Ying more interested in making movies than movie stardom

28 Nov - Despite having been nominated in the Golden Horse Awards twice and finally winning Best Actress for her performance in "The Way We Talk" recently, Chung Suet Ying's only goal now is to keep working hard.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who arrived home in Hong Kong following her win in Taipei, stated, "The goal is to become someone who becomes more and more interested in making movies. The film itself has yet to be released in Hong Kong, so I don't know if it will be in time for next year's HKFA nomination or if I will be nominated."

Asked if she will ask for a pay increase now that she is a Golden Horse winner, Chung laughed and said, "I have not considered it for the time being."

However, Chung admitted that her remuneration is quite low right now and that she has no idea how much the increase will be.

"But winning doesn't mean that I will only take leading roles. I am still willing to act in supporting roles. As long as I get to act, I will be happy," she added.

It is noted that Chung bested worthy contenders to win the said title, with other nominees being Sandra Ng, Patra Au, Sylvia Chang and Kimi Hsia.
