Rihanna’s Oscars Performance at the 2023 Oscars Was...W-O-W

It seems as though all eyes (aka mine) were on literal global superstar Rihanna tonight as she took the stage to perform “Lift Me Up” during the 95th annual Academy Awards. TBH, I’m currently still processing my own emotions about what just went down, so I’ll leave it up to the Twittersphere to help convey their own:

Oh, and in case you happened to miss the performance/wanna watch it for the 78th time, you can catch the full performance here:

P.S. When asked how her voice is feeling ahead of her performance, she replied, “Beautiful. God-given.” And after her amaze rendition, I'd have to agree 😭.

Evidently, the celeb has had a string of iconic performances as of late, with the most recent being the headliner at the freakin Super Bowl!!! Rihanna has previously explained that it was actually her baby who inspired her to say yes to the opportunity, which she'd actually turned down in the past, saying, “When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world and do anything. The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world. As scary as that was because I haven’t been onstage in seven years, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all. It’s important for me to do this, this year. It’s important for representation, it’s important for my son to see that.”

The singer has also mentioned that representation was also a factor in her decision and the influence of the actual performance itself: “Representing for immigrants, representing for my country, Barbados, representing for Black women everywhere...That's really important, that's key for people to see the possibilities. And I'm honored to be here, and I'm honored to be doing this, this year.”

Oh, and let's not forget that the big night was also unforgettable for another reason...Rihanna legit announced her second pregnancy!!!

Literally what can't she do?!
