The Allies of Skin Molecular Saviour Probiotics Repair Mist is marketed as a daily multi-use, handbag and travel skincare essential that is nutrient rich, and an anti-bacterial supercharged ‘treatment’ facial mist that refreshes thirsty skin on the go. The packaging is a sleek, matte black bottle that fits in your handbag or carry-on luggage, and comes with a laundry list of power-packed ingredients beneficial for your skin. Scented like the prettiest of rose water, the mist - which also has aloe vera as its base - is infused with a blend of antioxidants and probiotics that supposedly ‘cling’ to the skin due to its anti-evaporation formula.

Interview: Sarah Rotheram, CEO of Miller Harris would love to create a perfume for singer Adele

What drew me to it was its promise of probiotics and 6 Antioxidants like Lactobacillus Ferment, Niacinamide and Acai Berry for “glowing and dewy” complexion. Who wouldn’t want that for their skin, especially when stuck in the drying draft of an airplane for hours? It also promises to fight signs of fatigue and protect from the damaging effects of everyday exposure to stress and pollutants.

I followed the instructions: to spritz on a layer after cleansing over my face and neck, also multiple times during the day, while sat at my work desk. The feeling of refreshment in instantaneous, although I found the scent of rose water a tad too overwhelming. Great that I was at my desk, and fairly far away from the person next to me. Thinking about my impending long flight coming up, I was hoping to bring this nifty bottle in my carry on; But because of the scent, I might just opt for regular ol’ - if I might say, mildly scented - aloe spray instead. Considering how close airplane passengers are seated in cattle class, the strong scent might cause more stress from an agitated fellow traveller to offset the benefits of having dewy skin throughout my journey.

The list of ingredients in the Molecular Saviour Probiotics Repair Mist is impressive enough to list; And this writer would recommend getting it if you’re a lover of rose-based scents... and glowing, dewy skin:

COLLOIDAL SILVER: A proven topical antibiotic and antibacterial active that quells inflammation and promotes healing.

SILK AMINO ACIDS: Hydrating antioxidant that penetrates the skin’s surface to boost skin’s moisture levels as well as deliver essential nutrients for optimal cell growth.

ERGOTHIONEINE: Powerful antioxidant that protects skin from UV radiation. Reduces sunburns and sun damage.

HEALING OIL BLEND OF DAMASK ROSE OIL, PALMAROSA OIL, JUNIPER BERRY OIL: Reinforces the skin’s natural defense mechanisms and stimulates the regeneration of healthy skin cells.

ACAI BERRY: Nature’s super-food; it is abundant in trace nutrients, a powerful antioxidant.

LACTOBACILLIUS FERMENT: Potent antibacterial probiotics create a healthy balanced skin flora and reduces the appearance of acne and redness.

CHARGED ROSE HYDROSOL: Pure rose water that has been enhanced with a heavier molecular weight, so it clings to skin cells instead of evaporating. Rose hydrosol offers healing, soothing, antibacterial benefits to the skin.

MANGO EXTRACT: A natural alternative to phyto stem cells that promote hydration, as it effectively targets age spots and brightens skin.
