Beauty brand Clarins recently unveiled their new product the Total Eye Lift at a virtual press conference and we were among a few beauty editors to witness this launch at this unprecedented time.

Marie-Helene Lair, Clarins’ Innovation Director, was on a video call to share the benefits of the product and introduce the brand’s latest ambassador, Carmen Jorda, the former Spanish Formula GP3 driver.

In her presentation, Lair shares that some of the external factors that affect our skin are stress and a disruptive schedule. More so, we are constantly in front of our laptops and not giving our eyes ample rest.

To care for our eyes, Lair suggests these techniques when applying the product: First, warm the half-gel, half-cream Total Eye Lift product in between our fingers (index and middle are fine), then tap the product under and above your eyelids to allow the product to be absorbed.

When I tried the plant-based product, the first thing I noticed was its fragrance, which comes from Cassie flowers and Harungana extract, which is known to be as effective as retinol. Cassie flowers are a fuzzy, yellow bunch that gives out a scent reminiscent of orange blossom, while Harungana extract comes from trees in Madagascar that has powerful regenerating and soothing properties.

Upon first application, the product feels light and my skin quickly absorbed it under a minute.

My under-eye area appears smoother but I didn’t see a fast brightening effect upon first application. I would recommended using this product on a daily basis and observe after two weeks. Furthermore, you can also use this eye cream as an eye primer to hold your makeup application.

Lair says the product packaging is 100% recyclable and the company uses up to 25% of recycled glass - you can definitely feel the weight from the well-designed bottle.

The Clarins team continues to innovate and make eye treatment products like this Total Eye Lift cream to help eradicate puffiness, dark eye circles, fine lines and wrinkles. We definitely find joy in treatments that would help us look better while we perform video calls or wear face masks that only show our eyes during this pandemic.

To add, vegan fans would also love this treat for their eyes as the formula is made out of eight plant extracts.

Clarins Total Eye Lift retails at S$130 for 15ml and will be available on Clarins.com.sg and at all Clarins boutiques and counters from 3 August 2020.
