Rediscovering Benefits of Sabja Seeds (Sweet Basil Seeds)

Not to be confused with the much celebrated super food- Chia seeds, Sabja seeds are seeds of sweet basil & also known as tukhmaria in India. When soaked in water, Sabja seeds become gelatinous & swell in size. The sweet basil plant, native to Asia is known in Ayurveda for many medicinal & health benefits. The seeds have no distinct taste & can be easily added to a variety of dishes to enhance flavors plus they are relatively cheaper than Chia seeds.
