Ratings: CBS’ ‘The Greatest @Home Videos’ Thanksgiving Special Attracts 3 Million Viewers

CBS’ “The Greatest @Home Videos” Thanksgiving special, aptly titled “Thanks & Giving,” scored 3 million viewers upon its airing on Friday at 8 p.m., per official Nielsen live plus-same day figures. The special featured country music star Luke Bryan and host Cedric the Entertainer, as they highlighted hometown heroes who stepped in during Hurricane Ian.

“Thanks & Giving” helped the network average 3 million viewers overall across primetime, the highest of the night across the big five. The program was third in viewership overall, behind ABC’s airing of “Shark Tank” (3.6 million viewers, up 1.2 million from the week prior) and an encore airing of its network peer “Blue Bloods” (3.4 million).

Also of note, Fox’s “Friday Night Smackdown” won in the 18-49 demo, showcasing a 20% increase week over week. The episode also drew 2.3 million viewers, up 6% week over week.

Here’s how the rest of the networks fared across primetime:

After Fox, ABC was second in ratings, with 0.38. The network was also second to CBS in viewership, with an average 2.98 million (following closely behind CBS’ 3.04). After an 8 p.m. airing of “Shark Tank,” the network aired its regular “20/20” news program.

NBC was third in ratings, at 0.27, and averaged 2.2 million viewers for the fourth spot in total watchers. The network aired new episodes of “Lopez vs. Lopez,” “Young Rock” and “Dateline.”

CBS was fourth in ratings, with 0.23. At 9 and 10 p.m., the network ran encores of its partial Friday slate, with “Fire Country” and “Blue Bloods.” Viewership across CBS’ slate was predictably down as a result of the already aired episodes, seeing drops in the couple of millions.

The CW was fifth in both the demo and total average viewership, netting 0.09 and 556,000, respectively. At 8 p.m., the network aired “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” followed by a half-hour airing and re-run of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”

In terms of Spanish-language networks, Univision won with a 0.4 rating in the demo and 1.4 million total average viewers. “Vencer La Ausencia” started off the night at 8 p.m. and received a rating of 0.5 in the demo and a viewership of 1.4 million on average. At 9 p.m. “Los Ricos También Lloran” earned a 0.5 in the demo and 1.6 million total average viewers and “La Madrastra” closed off the night by receiving a 0.4 in ratings and 1.2 million total viewers on average.

Telemundo came in second place both in terms of rating in the demo and total average viewership, as the network saw a 0.2 rating and 881,000 average total viewers for the night. “Exatlón Estados Unidos,” which ran from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., earned a ratings score of 0.3 and brought an average viewership of 1 million. “La Reina del Sur” came next and brought in a 0.3 rating and 889,000 total viewers on average, and “El Fuego del Destino” finished the night with a rating of 0.2 in the demo and a total viewership of 716,000 on average.
