Proenza Schouler Gives Slip-On Vans the Downtown 'It' Girl Treatment

This summer, the skatepark is the new runway — and we have Proenza Schouler and Vans to thank for that.

The two brands have teamed up to reimagine the slip-on sneaker, blending Proenza Schouler's luxurious minimalism with Vans' skateboard heritage. The result is a puffy, soft-leather shoe available in three colorways: Ecru, Black and Resin.

In a joint statement, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, creative directors and co-founders of Proenza Schouler said that "a shared appreciation for strong design and fine craftsmanship informed the project from beginning to end."

The brand joins Vans' lengthy roster of high-fashion collaborators, which have included Collina Strada, Todd Snyder and Gucci. The accompanying campaign was lensed by Alessio Bolzoni, who's worked with Luca Guadagnino on photography for his films as well as brands like Miu Miu and Sunnei.

Vans x Proenza Schouler drops on May 29, with each pair retailing for $200. You can buy the Black and Ecru colorways on Vans and Proenza Schouler's respective websites; the Resin slip-ons are a Proenza Schouler exclusive, to be sold on its e-comm and its NYC flagship store.
