A Preview of the Philosophy, Malone Souliers Tie-up to Debut on Runway

MILAN — Even if the collection is few hours away from its reveal, the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini show promises to deliver some shoe game.

The Italian brand has partnered with Malone Souliers on exclusive styles that will make their debut during the brand’s spring 2024 runway show here on Friday.

Sitting on heels ranging from 1.7 inches to 3.5 inches and imbued with a feminine appeal, the six designs in the capsule collection feature curved lines, pointed or square toes, delicate straps and metal embellishments. For example, little gold spheres appear both on the Lucie minimal slingbacks with kitten heels and the Azzurra sandals defined by a caged upper and an ankle strap. Other styles include the Francesca boots marked with a ruched effect and the dazzling Carlotta mules.

Materials deployed across the collection range from neutral-toned nappa to silver leather, with a dash of crystals in pastel hues added for extra sparkle.

Serafini said the two brands share “the same passion for impeccable design, elegant glamour and high-end quality.”

“The shoe styles we developed together perfectly complement our spring 2024 collection, offering luxury accessories that fit Philosophy’s creative vision and signature aesthetic,” added the designer.

“Working with Lorenzo on this collection has been a wonderful and exciting opportunity,” echoed Coco Fong, Malone Souliers’ co-creative director with Valerio Bava. “Together we have created a collection that is modern, glamorous and sophisticated. As always, we have enjoyed getting to reimagine our aesthetic in a fresh, directional way,” echoed Bava.

This is not the first time that Philosophy has developed footwear capsule collections. As reported, earlier this year the label tied up with Sebago to reinterpret the iconic penny loafers of the storied shoemaker with neon-colored stitching and the PLS logo engraved on the heel. Previously, it joined forces with Milan-based resort brand Manebí in 2021, which followed a similar collaboration launched with Superga for the spring 2018 season.

Established in 1984, Philosophy is part of Aeffe’s portfolio along with the brands Alberta Ferretti, Moschino and Pollini. Serafini took over the creative helm in 2014, debuting his vision for the label during Milan Fashion Week in February 2015.
