Popular Koh Grill & Sushi Bar shuts its doors at Wisma Atria after 17 years
The well-known casual Japanese eatery, Koh Grill & Sushi Bar, has closed after 17 years of operations within Food Republic at Wisma Atria.
Food Republic made this announcement via their Instagram page on 13 Jan, in which they did not explain the reason for the sudden closure. In the same post, they informed customers that they would be welcoming “an exciting new Japanese dining concept soon” to take over the space.
Koh Grill & Sushi Bar was known for its affordable yet delicious Japanese fare, including sushi, sashimi, donburi and more. The eatery would often see huge crowds and long lines, especially during meal times and on weekends, which acted as a testament to its popularity. Hence, its closure without warning is even more shocking.
The Shiok Maki on the menu at Koh Grill & Sushi Bar was its signature item, which combined aburi salmon, unagi, avocado and flying fish roe. Drizzled with a creamy and cheesy sauce, this savoury and indulgent creation captured the hearts of many diners over the years.
Koh Grill & Sushi Bar also offered other delightful classic Japanese dishes, including a variety of fresh sashimi, tempura, sukiyaki and maki rolls. The Pitan Tofu was another popular menu item widely recommended by fans. Diners would often praise the eatery for its good service and reasonably priced food.
It is safe to say that Koh Grill & Sushi Bar will be dearly missed. Hopefully, the eatery will return once again in the future, perhaps in a different location, so that its loyal customers can continue to enjoy its famous Japanese dishes.
