Peter Chan to preside IFFAM's panel of jury
20 Jun – Hong Kong filmmaker Peter Chan will be presiding the panel of jury at this year's International Film Festival & Awards Macau (IFFAM).
As reported on Wenweipo, organisers announced the news during an event at the Shanghai International Film Festival, with Mike Goodridge – the artistic director of the said festival – praising Peter as one of the most accomplished Hong Kong filmmakers in recent history.
"The high quality of his Pan-Asian films has stimulated the development of the Asian Film Industry in general. I believe that he will bring his great experience and wisdom to the jury and the filmmakers this December," he said.
Although Peter did not make it to the press conference, the filmmaker did send a video message, saying that he is excited to meet with young directors from Asian countries and other parts of the world.
"I hope that more young directors will participate in these international exchanges, and hopefully the industry would give more guidance to these young people," he said.
The 4th International Film Festival & Awards Macau will be held from 5 to 10 December 2019.
