Norwegian Cruise Line Will Debut a Brand-new Ship in 2026 — With a Hybrid Waterslide and Roller Coaster
Trips will launch from Miami.
Norwegian Cruise Line will introduce a brand-new ship in 2026, the Norwegian Luna, complete with a hybrid roller coaster and water slide combo, a digital sports complex, and more.
The 3,550-guest ship will sail roundtrip from Miami starting on April 4, 2026, Norwegian shared with Travel + Leisure. The Norwegian Luna will be 10 percent larger than the cruise line’s other Prima Class ships, the Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva, and will be designed as a twin ship to the Norwegian Aqua, which is due to be delivered next year.
“The debut of Norwegian Luna truly showcases our ongoing commitment to providing guests more of what they enjoy and value – a brand-new ship with the latest, innovative offerings sailing to the beautiful, tropical destinations of the Caribbean,” David J. Herrera, the president of Norwegian Cruise Line, said in a statement. “It’s important to give our guests more to see, more to do, more to enjoy on board and ultimately more out of their cruise vacation.”
The new ship will feature the Aqua Slidecoaster, which the cruise line will first debut on the Norwegian Aqua. The cruise line said the attraction will “become the longest and fastest slides at sea” complete with a magnetic lift and dual slides wrapping three stories around the ship's funnel. Additionally, the Norwegian Luna will feature other thrills like a 10-story free-fall slide called “The Drop.”
The ship will also have several new and returning favorite restaurants, like a new Thai specialty restaurant as well as the returning Indulge Food Hall (including a plant-based option), and old favorites like Onda by Scarpetta and Cagney’s Steakhouse.
Travelers looking for an elevated experience will love The Haven, Norwegian’s ship-within-a-ship concept, which features 24-hour butler service, a dedicated concierge team, access to a private sundeck, an infinity pool overlooking the ship’s stern, a private lounge, and an outdoor spa with glass-walled sauna and cold room. And to really splurge, passengers can book the three-bedroom, two-story Duplex Haven Suites with separate living and dining areas.
After its debut in Miami, the Norwegian Luna will sail 7-day Caribbean voyages with stops in several popular ports, including Cozumel in Mexico, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Norwegian’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.
The Norwegian Luna is now open to bookings for trips from April 18, 2026, through November 2026.
