No. 21 Pre-Fall 2024

The introspective fashion phase of Alessandro Dell’Acqua is still in full swing, as the designer continued to creatively look inward to the No. 21 world rather than seeking references outside for inspiration. For pre-fall 2024, he reshuffled key codes of his fashion to serve a cool collection that ran the gamut from tomboy-ish attitude to extra-glam party gear.

He continued to inject a little unpredictability into his staple designs, layering check shirts with chiffon or playing with the deceptive appearance of suits cut in shrunken proportions that were fully covered in black-and-white sequins to mimic tweed from afar.

Mixing casual with formalwear and glitz, Dell’Acqua paired padded workwear jackets with sequined pencil skirts cut from a stretch fabric, threw a couple of printed T-shirts with a vintage feel under suits and lined a faux leather coat with Neoprene.

Knitwear — one of the designer’s fortes — added to the textural variety, from classic lambswool sweaters to fuzzy mohair ones that introduced flashy pops of burgundy and yellow colors to the lineup.

Exalting the brand’s signature mix of street-ready wearability and intriguing femininity, Dell’Acqua upped the dressed-up quotient via a standout faux fur with a subtle animalier effect and a dainty silk dress in black-and-white floral prints, before a dollop of eccentric eventually took over with duchesse satin dresses and miniskirts with maxi bows and a macramé bustier with the same embellishment. Rhinestone drops dangling from see-through shirts and a sleeveless dress, as well as a cascade of feathers running down an essential gown, topped the eveningwear proposition, completing a wardrobe intended to dress the No. 21 woman from day to night.
