Nike and Tiffany & Co. reveal new Air Force 1 1837 – and the Internet reacts

The jaw-dropping price is US$400.

The Internet has spoken about the debut of the Nike x Tiffany & Co. Air Force 1 1837 and we're here for it! If you don't know by now, the sneakers giant has collaborated with the luxury jewellery brand for Nike's 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1.

The shoes are crafted in premium black suede, feature a Tiffany Blue Swoosh and have co-branded silver details above each heel. And the jaw-dropping price is US$400, thanks to a silver Tiffany tag at the back of each shoe.

To further celebrate the launch, Tiffany & Co. will release a collection of inspired, limited edition sterling silver products, available on Tiffany.com in the United States. The co-branded designs include a sterling silver whistle, shoehorn, shoe brush and dubrae for the Nike x Tiffany & Co. Air Force 1 1837 laces.

The Internet has voiced strongly about the design, with some responses pointing to the colourways:

Yikes! But did you know, a previous design featuring Tiffany's iconic colour did exist years before?

Fun facts:

  • This happened in August 2005, when Nike SB Dunk Low shoes with turquoise and black colourways, were launched in limited quantities across the U.S. – and were quickly sold out!

  • The shoes were designed by Nick Tershay aka Nicky Diamonds, who was the founder of Diamond Supply Co.

  • Tiffany & Co. didn't officially sanction the design although the shoes were called 'Tiffany Dunks' and featured the iconic turquoise colour

  • Today, that 2005 design (which cost US$65 at that time) routinely goes up to US$3,000 a pair
