10 Jan – With a big Hollywood star already leading the franchise, it's not hard to get other fellow stars to join it too. The latest to join the cast of Tom Cruise's high grossing "Mission: Impossible" action series is English actor Nicholas Hoult.

Director Christopher McQuarrie broke the casting news on Instagram by posting a photo of Hoult and tagging the actor in his question, "care to raise a little hell?"

Hoult responded by posting the same photo, captioned, "Love to. Though why stop at a little?"

The duo did not divulge further info, so at the moment it is unknown what role Hoult will be playing. Judging by the #MI78 hashtag in his caption, it can only be speculated that he will appear in both the seventh and eight instalments of the franchise that McQuarrie will be shooting back-to-back.

Hoult joins fellow "Mission: Impossible" newcomers Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff in a cast that's, of course, led by Tom Cruise, who will be reprising his role as Ethan Hunt. Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames are also returning in their respective roles.

Filming has yet to begun but "Mission: Impossible 7" is already slated for release in North American cinemas on 23 July 2021, while "Mission: Impossible 8" will be releasing on 5 August 2022.

Having steadily starred in two to three movies per year in the past decade, with his most recent ones being last year's "Tolkien" and "X-Men: Dark Phoenix", Hoult will be seen on the big screen next alongside Angelina Jolie in "Those Who Wish Me Dead".
