'The Lego Movie' directors take on 'Star Wars' movie

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will direct the movie adaptation of Andy Weir's upcoming book "Artemis."

Disney announced Wednesday that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are to direct a "Star Wars" film in which Han Solo will take center stage.

Lawrence Kasdan, the writer of "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back," "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is to pen the new movie, joining forces with his son Jon Kasdan, whose resume includes Sundance film "The First Time," according to Deadline Hollywood.

The film is set in the era before Han Solo joined the rebels.

In the original Star Wars trilogy, Han Solo is a bad guy who becomes the hero.

Jason McGatlin will executive produce with Kasdan and the film is scheduled for May 25, 2018.
