Jessie Li goes nude for "Port of Call"
29 Nov – Despite being her first ever feature film, new Chinese actress Jessie Li Chun Xia has worked professionally on her debut film "Port of Call" where she had to do several full frontal nude scenes with her coworker Michael Ning and Don Li.
Her amazing performance in the Hong Kong crime thriller led her to win Best Actress at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the 52nd Golden Horse Awards.
When the 22-year-old actress was asked of her experience of having to perform nude in her debut feature film and what she did to prepare for her role, the actress replied; "There's nothing much to prepare actually."
"Because I regard Michael as my friend, so I trusted him. I feel like there is no need for me to build that line of defense because everyone is so professional," said the actress during an interview at Crowne Plaza, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
Jessie Li plays a prostitute named Wang Jia Mei who is brutally murdered and dismembered by a truck driver Chi Chung Ting (played by Michael Ning) in the movie.
Directed by Philip Yung, "Port of Call" is based on a real incident where a young prostitute named Wang Jia Mei (Jessie Lie) is brutally murdered and dismembered by a truck driver Chi Chung Ting (Michael Ning). Officer Chong (Aaron Kwok) who is in charge of the case aims to unravel the reason of the cruel murder.
