Eun Ji Won to Host Hip-Hop Program for the First Time

Eun Ji Won will be hosting a hip-hop music show alone as its sole MC.

Eun Ji Won was chosen as the MC for Mnet’s Show Me the Money, which will be airing its first broadcast on June 22. It will be the first time Eun Ji Won will host a show alone.

Producer Lee Sun Young of Show Me the Money told enews on June 14, “We chose Eun Ji Won as the MC because has a deep understanding of hip-hop music and experience in variety programs. We shot the first episode of Show Me the Money on June 12, and he exceeded our expectations as a host.”

The producer added, “Show Me the Money especially needs quick reflexes because it not only introduces music, but also [has the hosts and guests] communicate with the audience, and Eun Ji Won’s friendly [image] and wit helped him shine in that aspect.”

Show Me the Money has been called the ‘I Am a Singer for rappers’ ever since news of it spread in its design stages.

It is also meaningful in that it’s Mnet’s first hip-hop program in about 10 years since Hip Hop the Vibe was discontinued in 2004.

The program is expected to bring in the know-hows Mnet used for the successes of Superstar K and Voice of Korea.

The show will not only make the best rappers battle with each other but also have them perform in collaboration performances with rookie rappers chosen through an audition process, giving viewers something to look forward to hearing and seeing every week.
