SINGAPORE — Fans of the popular sitcom Will & Grace can rejoice because Netflix Singapore has released all of the first eight seasons of the TV show – yes, all 194 episodes.

Netflix SG uploaded the comedy series last Wednesday (15 May). The American sitcom ran for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006 on the NBC network. It was then renewed in 2017 by NBC due to popular demand, and went on for three more seasons up till season 10, with the finale aired in the US last month.

The show follows the lives of four characters in New York city – Will Truman, a gay lawyer; Grace Adler, Truman’s straight best friend and interior designer; Jack McFarland, a gay man with dreams of breaking into showbiz; and Karen Walker, a rich and snooty socialite.

Will & Grace was groundbreaking during its time for its tackling of LGBT themes. It was the first television series in the US to feature openly gay lead characters, and was one of the most-watched TV shows in the US during its run. It was credited with bringing gay men and women into mainstream pop culture and fostering wider public acceptance of the LGBT community.

The show was met with critical acclaim and has received 18 Emmy Awards so far, including best comedy series and awards for all the four main stars, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally.

Now we’re just waiting for another beloved sitcom, The Office – the all-time most-streamed show on Netflix – to come to Netflix SG.
