NCT 127’s Johnny Suh Layers Thom Browne Classics for the Brand’s 20th Anniversary in Seoul

Johnny Suh of K-pop band NCT 127 attended Thom Browne’s book signing and cocktail party in Seoul on Friday, adopting many classic pieces from the designer’s brand, which also celebrated its 20th anniversary during the soiree.

Suh wore a head-to-toe Thom Browne look, including a classic white Oxford shirt, skinny gray tie, green paisley print cardigan, shrunken navy blazer gray trousers, sailboat socks and black Oxford shoes.

The singer, who is a rapper and vocalist for NCT 127, has seen increased fame, especially in the American market, with the rise of K-pop’s international reach. In addition to Thom Browne, Suh is known for supporting other American designers and the American fashion industry.

In May 2022, Suh flew to New York City to attend the 2022 Met Gala, where the theme was “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” For the occasion, he wore Vietnamese American designer Peter Do, arriving at the event known as the “Super Bowl of Fashion” donning a long satin black tailcoat with silver detailing and a matching suit underneath. He completed the look with black military boots with a metal toe tip.

Browne’s exhibition at 10 Corso Como highlights the designer’s journey over the past two decades and features eight of his notable runway looks. Following the cocktail event, South Korean actress Youn Yuh-Jung and Browne discussed some of the most memorable moments of his career at the Leeum Museum of Art on Saturday.

This year marked a momentous turn for Thom Browne, as the designer debuted his first couture collection at Paris Couture Week in July. WWD characterized the collection as a theatrical, melancholic extravaganza, with some arch humor bubbling under the uniformly gray surface. The day after the show, Browne booked 20 client appointments for the collection.
