Nadeera frustrated over insult and slander over "Astana" controversy
21 Dec - Nadeera admitted that she felt a bit saddened that there are those who mocked and slandered her when it comes to the previous controversy surrounding the song "Astana".
The singer, who was originally asked by record label Rocketfuel to perform the song instead of original singer Ernie Zakri at the previous 38th Semifinal of Muzik Muzik, stated that she understood the backlash coming from Ernie's fans when it was first announced.
"The fans have the right to question the decision as they were the ones who voted for the song... Being attacked on social media is normal to me, and they didn't really know what actually happened. It's just that, there is no need to slander or mock me when doing so," she said.
It is noted that some netizens slammed the singer on social media, accusing her of stealing Ernie's song and calling her disgraceful among others.
Nadeera stated that she had no intention to hurt anybody, and that the offer to perform the song came from the record label.
"You have to ask Rocketfuel instead for more, as they were the ones who offered it to me," she added.
Nadeera also stressed that she and Ernie are fine, and that she is happy when "Astana" was selected to compete at the Anugerah Juara Lagu that will be held in March.
In a previous interview, Ernie urged everybody to be kind to Nadeera, saying that she and the singer have no issue between them.
