Mira Filzah dismisses allegations of ignorance over Gaza-Israel issue

15 May - Mira Filzah is annoyed that her name has been listed in the local version of Blockout 2024, despite always being vocal in her support of a ceasefire in Gaza.

On 13 May, the actress shared a collage of past Instagram Stories showing that she has always been up-to-date with the ongoing onslaught, and wasn't just posting a lot of updates on the situation after she was being called out.

"If you are here just to stalk me, you might think these posts came suddenly. But those who have followed me for a long time, they will know that I have always been reposting. Let me show you," she wrote, as she posted the aforementioned screenshots.

"Before 12 May (when the blocking trend went viral), on 10th, 9th, 8th, 7th, I have already reposted," she added.

In another post, Mira stated that people can do whatever they want to do. However, it is important not to insult others in their effort for a good cause.

"It's a #blockout not an [#insultout]. Remember, our writings can bring us either blessings or sins," she added.

The Blockout 2024 movement gained traction on social media following the MET Gala, after many expressed disgusts over celebrities showing off opulence and wealth at the event while the population in Rafah were being attacked on the same day.

Many likened the situation to the movie "The Hunger Games", made worse by social media influencer Haley Kalil aka Haylee Baylee, who decided to post a video of her in a Marie Antoinette-inspired gown and saying the controversial line of "Let them eat cake."
