Melody announces divorce from husband of 17 years
10 Jul – Taiwanese singer Melody recently announced that she and her husband Wu Yu-Qi have called it quits on their marriage.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the Taiwanese-American singer expressed, "Thank you for your dedication and all the time you have spent together... for the children, for each other... I hope that the relationship that I have worked hard and choose to change can go in a better direction... sincere blessings."
Melody also expressed hope that her fans and the media will give her and her family some space as she is very unaccustomed to publicising private matters.
The singer, however, made no mention as to why the two have decided to part ways.
Melody married her husband, 15 years her senior in 2006. The two are parents to daughters Olivia and Fiona. Prior to Qu, the singer's most known relationship was with David Tao, whose hit song "Melody" was inspired by her.
