Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, mixed traditional attire with glam heels while in Lagos, Nigeria.
Currently there to celebrate the Invictus Games on a three-day trip, Markle pulled on a pair of Burberry Prorsom Berkeley heels as she landed in Lagos with her husband, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, after leaving Abuja. Harry wore a suede, Wallabee-style loafer.
Markle, who has Nigerian heritage, was wearing a striped Aso-Oke wrap skirt that she had been gifted by theNigerian Diaspora Commission on Saturday. The wrap was hand-woven by the Yoruba people, and she paired it with a white Carolina Herrera shirt.
Markle has been cycling through looks on the trip. On the second day, while in Abuja, Markle wore a pair of flat Emme Parsons sandals that featured leather fringe on the top. The same day, she hosted a Women in Leadership event wearing a pair of tan So Nude sandals from Aquazzura.
About the Shoe
The shoes that Markle picked, she’s worn before. They were a pair of gold metallic shoes from Burberry Prorsom. The style feature a beige, satin buckle as well as a counter of the same material. The shoe also features a snakeskin knot across the toe. Flattened, the knot is in gold, which matches a gold accent detail at the back of the shoe.
The shoe has a stiletto heel of about four inches. It is the brand’s Berkeley heel and was made under Christopher Bailey’s tenure. Markle previously wore the shoes in 2013 to The Novak Djokovic Foundation Foundation Dinner in New York City.
Meghan Markle’s Shoe Style
Markle has quite the shoe collection. She has staple brands like Aquazzura, Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik. A major staple is the Purist pump from Aquazzura but the Duchess is also a major fan of sandal styles or otherwise pointed-toe silhouettes.
