Meet the girls representing Singapore in the next Asia’s Next Top Model

Asia’s Next Top Model is returning for its fifth season on the Star World cable channel and two of the 14 contestants are from Singapore.

Representing the Republic are 18-year-old R Nametha and 20-year-old Layla Ong. Both have modelling experience outside of the popular reality show, which is the Asian franchise of the original “America’s Next Top Model” that is based in the US. The show’s founder is former supermodel Tyra Banks.

R Nametha was runner-up in the 2015 The New Paper New Face pageant and has walked the runways at big local fashion events, including Samsung’s “Fashion Steps Out” which took place at Orchard Road.

Meanwhile, Ong has experience in the high-fashion world, having strutted the catwalk at London Fashion Week for Morecco, and is signed to UK modelling agency PRM as well as local firm Basic Model Management.

The judges for the show will be celebrity model and former Miss Thailand World Cindy Bishop, Miss Universe 2016 Pia Wurtzbach, fashion photographer Yu Tsai as well as model and host Cara G McIlroy.
