Mawar Rashid, Raf Yaakob confirm separation
23 Nov - After much speculations, Mawar Rashid finally confirmed that she and husband Raf Yaakob are ending their marriage.
In a statement released on Instagram Story on 23 November, the actress stated that both she and Raf, who is also the brother of singer Fazley Yaakob, have decided to end their marriage following irreconcilable differences.
"Raf and I are on good terms and will always be. Our main focus right now is to provide all the support and love our children need. Successful co-parenting is important and is something we will be working towards, [God willing]," she expressed.
Mawar also stressed that the said statement would be the only one they release to the media and the public, and expressed hope that there will be no speculations.
"We are both truly devastated to share this news with all of you. However, this is truly the best for the both of us. Thank you for always supporting the both of us and your kind words. It truly means a lot to us," she added.
Rumours of marital woes between the two sparked after Mawar decided to no longer wear the hijab and proceeded to remove photos of her with her husband. Mawar tied the knot with Raf back in 2017 and are parents to three children, aged four to 10 months.
This is the second marriage for Raf, who has two children from a previous marriage.
