Mary Jean Reimer returns to legal practice
26 Sep - Former actress and solicitor Mary Jean Reimer has now adapted to the working environment after two months of returning to legal practice.
As reported on Mingpao, Reimer, who retired from the job four years ago due to hypothyroidism, recently had to make a comeback - in order to make more money to fund her legal battle against the corruption that occurred inside the Ting Wai Monastery in Tai Po, where she was appointed one of its directors.
Speaking to the media at the third anniversary party of the lawn firm where she is currently employed, Reimer said, "I wasn't able to get used to the work at first. I had to take a lot of time adapting to the new rules and work environment. But fortunately, it is easy to get along with my colleagues here."
Reimer said that while it was hard for her to return as an employee when she used to be the boss, she is not as pressured at work since she could just focus on her legal work, instead of worrying about administration process.
As for her case against the corrupted officials at the Tai Po monastery, Reimer stressed that her mission is to seek justice and serve the people, and not for the sake of money.
