Mark Wright Breaks Twitter Silence Following Death Of Nanny Pat

Earlier today it was announced that The Only Way Is Essex’s Nanny Pat had passed away following a “short illness”.

The 80-year-old was a much-loved member of the TOWIE cast, being adored by fans up and down the country, but nobody idolised her more than her famous grandchildren, Mark and Jess Wright.

After the news of Pat’s death went public, Mark went to his Twitter page to thank well-wishers for their support, revealing that he is understandably brokenhearted.

He wrote: “My heart is broken but so overwhelmed by your support.

"To know good ole Nanny was loved by so many is the best feeling in the world Thankyou”.

This morning, the Wright family confirmed the sad news in a statement that read: “Sadly our amazing, courageous and beautiful Nanny Pat passed away this morning after a short illness.

"We are overwhelmed by sadness, and the whole family ask for privacy at this horrible time.”

Just last month Mark’s mum, Carol, gave a moving tribute to her mother at her 80th birthday party that was aired on the ITVBE show, sharing: "I would like to thank everyone for celebrating Mummy’s birthday. This little old lady puts everyone first and never asks for anything in return - apart from a packet of candy!

"She nursed my father right up until the day he passed away. Just before he died, he held my hand and said make sure you look after your mother. Well, we have, Dad.

"She is such an inspirational lady and I’m so lucky to be able to call her my mother.”
