Mark Chao to star in Chinese remake of "Misaeng"

8 Jun – Producers of the Korean drama "Misaeng" has confirmed rumours that a Chinese remake of the said drama is soon to begin production.

As reported on Epoch Times, a rep from the production company assured that the mainland studio responsible for the Chinese version has already obtained the copyright needed for the remake.

Sources revealed that the Chinese version of "Misaeng" has been titled "Ordinary Glory" (working title), and will star actors Mark Chao, Bai Jingting, and Qiao Xin.

Many speculated that Mark will play the role of workaholic Oh Sang-shik (played by Lee Sung-min in the Korean drama), while Bai will play Im Si-wan's Jang Geu-rae - the lead character of the series.

On the other hand, Qiao will play the role of fellow intern Ahn Young-yi (originally played by Kang So-ra).

The original drama, which aired on tvN in 2014, was based on the webtoon series of the same name by Yoon Tae-ho. It was previously remade in Japan as "Hope: Kitai Zero no Shinnyu Shain" in 2015, co-starring Yuto Nakajima and Kenichi Endō.
