"Love Education" wins big at China Director's Guild Awards
23 Apr - Sylvia Chang was recently named the biggest winner at the 9th China Film Directors' Guild Awards.
As reported on Phoenix, the filmmaker recently bagged two awards, Best Director from Hong Kong/Taiwan and Best Screenplay for her movie, "Love Education". But since she both directed and co-wrote the movie (alongside You Xiaoying), Sylvia instead became the biggest individual winner of the night.
On the other hand, actor Tu Men and actress Zhou Dongyu won Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively.
Tu won his award for the role in "Old Beast", while Zhou received hers for "This is Not What I Expected".
The list of winners are as follows:
Best Film: "Youth"
Best Director: Vivian Qu ("Angels Wear White")
Best Actor: Tu Men ("Old Beast")
Best Actress: Zhou Dongyu ("This is Not What I Expected")
Best Screenplay: Sylvia Chang, Xiaoying You ("Love Education")
Best Hong Kong / Taiwan Director: Sylvia Chang ("Love Education")
