Louis Cheung banned by TVB?

27 Nov – Louis Cheung has neither confirmed nor denied rumours that he has been banned by TVB, but admitted recently that he will not be a part of the company's projects for a while.

As reported on Mingpao, rumours of a ban sparked recently when Louis, who was part of the TVB drama, "My Ages Apart", did not attend any of its promotional events.

It was alleged that Louis' ban from the company was an indirect effect from TVB's supposed issue with Stephen Shiu Jr.'s HMV Digital China, which signed Louis as one of its artistes back in August.

Sources claimed that TVB and HMV are currently butting heads about a previous issue concerning Charmaine Sheh's pay for the movie "Return of the Cuckoo", and that TVB decided to temporarily block HMV's artistes from working with the company while they are settling the issue.

Amid the rumours, on 22 November, Louis uploaded a video online, saying that he may not be able to appear in Tseung Kwan O - where TVB City is located - for a while, but thanked TVB for the many years he was part of the company.

He also thanked TVB Executive Catherine Tsang, as well as all the cast and crew who worked with him.

Finally, Louis urged viewers to continue to support his drama, "My Ages Apart", and promised to do his best in future endeavours.

On the other hand, Stephen Shiu Jr. recently responded to the issue saying that he is not affected by the ban, and will continue to assist Louis in his goal to do more movies.
