Liza Wang wishes for Hong Kong to return to normal
6 Aug – Despite her understanding of the strike that is happening in Hong Kong, veteran actress Liza Wang recently expressed hope that everything will return to normal soon.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke to the media at a Cantonese Opera event in Tsim Sha Tsui, revealed that she almost arrived late to the event due to the roadblocks caused by the march.
Assuring that there was no danger, she, however, admitted that it was very inconvenient and affected a lot of people.
As for the 8.5 strike happening in Hong Kong, Liza said, "The strike is certainly not a good thing. But I understand it. I just hope that everybody could go back to work. Some people just want a proper functioning of the society."
The 5 August mass protest marked the biggest day of the anti-extradition bill march, with large strikes held in seven districts, which resulted in clashes between the protesters and the police. Flights were also cancelled at Hong Kong airport.
