Lin Wei reveals he and Mimi Kung have been divorced for two years
6 Sep – Chinese actor Lin Wei recently surprised many by admitting that he and Hong Kong actress Mimi Kung have actually been divorced for two years.
As reported on Mingpao, the news broke after the Taiwanese media released photos of the actor hugging and kissing businesswoman and La Jolla founder, Liu Zhuo-mei on the streets.
Lin stated, "Hong Kong is not for me. I feel that the family no longer needs me, and I have no friends there, so there is no reason for me to stay. I went back to Taiwan."
The actor also stressed that he has always been financially independent, and that while they jointly owned their houses in Hong Kong, he had no issue dividing the properties.
Lin revealed that he only returns to Hong Kong for the New Year to visit the family, but that his children remained with Mimi.
As for his relationship with Liu, Lin praised the latter of being a great person who gives him a sense of security.
"I don't think there is any reason for us to avoid the public. We knew that we were photographed that day," he said.
Lin and Mimi, who dated after meeting on the set of 991's "Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain", tied the knot in Canada back in 1999. The two have two children together - daughter Ashley, who is now a singer in Taiwan, and son Edison.
