The actress who plays a paranormal psychologist in the horror franchise wants to keep going

Umm, Elise? There is a demon behind you!

8 Jan – There is no stopping 74-year-old Lin Shaye from making more "Insidious" movies, that is if there are more films planned for the popular Blumhouse Productions horror franchise.

Regarded as a 'scream queen' due to her roles in many horror movies - "A Nightmare on Elm Street", "Critters", "Dead End", "2001 Maniacs", "Alone in the Dark", "Amityville: A New Generation", "Abattoir", "Ouija", and more - Shaye had finally found her strongest role yet via the "Insidious" franchise.

In the fourth "Insidious" movie, "Insidious: The Last Key", Shaye returns to play paranormal psychologist Elise Rainier, who was initially introduced in the first movie released in 2010 by creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell.

"I'll absolutely love to keep making more "Insidious" movies as long as James and Leigh keep making them. Just tell me where I can sign up and I'm there!," said Shaye in an exclusive interview with Cinema Online.

Shaye also mentioned that this time around, as the lead of the movie, her character goes through many emotional situations pertaining her childhood and acting out those parts for her was indeed tough, and yes, despite her fearless role, she does sometimes get scared of the paranormal in real life.

"I do think about it and have come to accept that these things do exist. Especially when I was given the script for the first movie, I had to lock it in a closet before I went to bed. I didn't want it anywhere near me!"

The past three "Insidious" movies have gone on to gross USD421 million worldwide.

The latest movie which was released on 4 January 2018 in Asia and 5 January 2018 in North America, has thus far grossed USD49.4 million over its opening weekend.

In "Insidious: The Last Key", which is chronologically the second movie of the franchise, Elise has to return to her childhood home in New Mexico to literally face the demons of her past and venture deeper into the astral plane known as The Further.

"Insidious: The Last Key" is now showing in cinemas.
