Lin Gengxin to replace Kris Wu in "The Golden Hairpin"?
3 Dec – Lin Gengxin (Kenny Lin) is said to have been selected to replace Kris Wu in the historical drama, "The Golden Hairpin".
As reported on On CC, the "Scarlet Heart" star reportedly will be stepping in to reshoot all the scenes involving Kris, which means co-star Yang Zi will also have to return to redo some of her scenes that involved Kris.
It is noted that Yang Zi is currently busy filming her new movie, "Drug Hunting", which means that her scenes will have to wait for a while.
Kris was originally cast as Prince Li Shubai, the Tang Dynasty royalty who seeks out the help of female detective Huang Zixia (Yang Zi) to help solve crimes in his kingdom. The singer had wrapped up filming in July 2020, with the plan for the series to be released in summer.
However, the former EXO member was arrested in August this year for rape, following allegations made by a young woman named Du Meizhu.
The lavish drama costs RMB 300 million to make and is co-produced by Tencent Video, Xinli TV and Phoenix United Pictures.
Lin reportedly was reluctant at first about accepting the offer, but rumour has it that the producers were able to reel him in with an offer of two other series as well.
