Leon Lai slams sources leaking news of his baby's birth
27 Apr – Following rumours of a premature birth, Hong Kong singer Leon Lai has confirmed that he is now a father.
But that was not the only thing he said in his statement released on social media.
The singer, who wrote a long post on his official Facebook account, expressed his frustration that news of his baby's birth was leaked to the media by irresponsible people.
Leon stated while he is thankful to the doctors and nurses, he is disappointed that someone has decided to leak the news of his baby's birth to a reporter and has turned the hospital into a waiting venue for other reporters.
"I don't know how much pressure it will bring to other medical personnel and patients. It will also affect other mothers and people who need to see the doctor," he said.
Leon, who has decided not to visit the hospital again, stated that parents of premature babies need to focus on cooperating with the doctors, and that he is worried that him coming there while the media is camped inside will only cause more issues.
The singer also has a message for the sources who leaked the news, saying, "I have no choice but to look back at the history of Japanese invasion in China. There are some people that still possess that traitor genes. They turn a serious issue into a gossip for the media, and then [sit back and watch]. This is a strange phenomenon in our society today."
